ABOUT
The ERA SPB 6 series ceiling lamps, resembling UFOs, feature a base housing electronics and LEDs, topped with a UFO-shaped plastic diffuser with various graphics. Lamps within the same design share different power levels, with larger lamps requiring bigger boxes. The existing packaging involved corrugated cardboard boxes with individual full-color printing and specific product information and images.
SOLUTION
I, Vladimir Shmoilov, proposed a more cost-effective and eco-friendly approach. We transitioned from full-color printing on separate boxes for each lamp to single-color printing on kraft cardboard, eliminating the need for an extra laminated layer. Instead, I added a bright sticker featuring a product image and individual information specific to each lamp. To achieve this, we categorized lamp information into general details shared across different models and distinctive information unique to each SKU, including barcodes, model names, series names (representing the diffuser design), power ratings, and more.
RESULT
The project successfully redefined ERA ceiling lamp packaging. It significantly reduced production costs while maintaining the product’s appeal. The transition to kraft cardboard and simplified printing lowered environmental impact. The bright sticker added a touch of individuality to each lamp without compromising cost-effectiveness. This project demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, cost-efficiency, and smart design, enhancing the ERA brand and user experience.
