The Birth of Milk Chocolate In 1875, Swiss chocolatier Daniel Peter, working in Vevey, Switzerland (heart of the Vaud Canton), sought to create a less bitter chocolate.

His inspiration? Impressing a young woman.

The solution? Adding powdered milk to dark chocolate, thus inventing milk chocolate! As you might expect from its inclusion of milk, milk chocolate boasts a good amount of calcium. It also contains small amounts of iron, potassium, zinc, vitamin A, and vitamin K.

Introducing 1875 Chocolate Inspired by the year of milk chocolate’s creation, I have named this brand-new milk chocolate “1875.” Made with the Finest Ingredients 1875 chocolate is crafted using only fresh cocoa beans and high-quality milk chocolate. We offer three varieties: milk chocolate with pistachios, hazelnuts, and hazelnut centers (not nucleuses).
