There’s no sight quite as evocative of an oasis as palm trees in the scorching desert. It is these trees, the date palms, that stand unique in producing sweet fruit in the face of the elements. This remarkable resilience and the tree’s cultural significance inspired the packaging for NUA, an ultra-premium brand specializing in cultivating the world’s finest dates. NUA is a sub-brand of Al Madinah Heritage Company, a PIF company.

Illustrating the trunk of a palm tree, STEM is a modular, stackable bonbonnière that feels utterly organic and intuitive in use while concealing a tremendous amount of technical sophistication. The design marries warm walnut wood with polished stainless steel, creating a luxurious aesthetic. The chosen pattern, which emerges only when a date palm is cultivated, symbolizes the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature.

Specialists across three continents collaborated with our team to craft this high-end product. To achieve the specific geometry and a seamless connection between the curvatures and interlocking forms, we employed stamping and CNC milling techniques. Designed to serve as both a storage and presentation object, STEM meticulously accommodates each date, highlighting the selective process that NUA follows.

The four trays offer multiple configurations. You may choose to present the entire four-layer cylinder to your guests, use two layers to create a closed serving dish, or simply place the individual bowls directly on the table as shared or personal serving trays.
