On a trip to the historical city of Jaipur, I captured an image of the Jantar Mantar under the cold winter sun which led me to adapt a minimalist version of the medieval structure. Inspired by the geoemtrical lines, the angular views and the controlled asymmetry of the Jantar Mantar, I deconstructed the structure to it’s simplest form. Using the colours of the desert and playing with light, this is the first of a series of minimal digital art inspired by my favourite architectural marvels. I also imagined the illustration as the face of a series of audiobooks, short story collection and an exhibit, all dedicated to this beautiful city in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
