Dorado, meaning “golden” in Spanish, set the tone for one of our most evocative branding journeys. Our client approached us with a desire to create a coffee brand that felt premium but warm, rooted in story as much as in flavor. From the very beginning, we saw “gold” not just as a color or a status symbol — but as a metaphor. Coffee, often called “black gold,” transforms into rich golden hues through roasting. It’s a process of alchemy, of value creation — and this became our narrative foundation.
To translate this golden metaphor into visual identity, we leaned into the artistry of embroidery. Not just any embroidery — golden threadwork, reminiscent of regal garments and heirloom textiles. This symbolized the precision and craft of roasting and bean selection. Rather than rely on tired coffee imagery, we illustrated surreal, richly detailed visuals: maps, flora, celestial motifs, and human figures — all woven together to express movement and journey. Illustration became Dorado’s soul — storytelling in layered ink. These elements were embossed and engraved like golden filigree across the packaging, expressing refinement and warmth in equal measure.
The result is a brand that feels like a keepsake. Dorado positions itself confidently in the premium coffee space, yet never loses its sense of approachability or emotional resonance. Every visual, every detail, and every sip of coffee carries an intention — to elevate a daily ritual into something near poetic. We didn’t just build a coffee brand; we created a golden world, one that honors craftsmanship, imagination, and the soulful beauty found in the ordinary.
