Windowrie Wines

Founded in the 1980s by family patriarch David O’Dea, Windowrie was born during the rise of Australia’s “New World” winemaking movement. Guided by David’s vision—recognised by Australian Wine Business Monthly as one of the top 50 leaders in Australian wine—the O’Dea family has built a boutique winery synonymous with sustainability, innovation, and uncompromising quality.

Today, the family proudly manages more than 150 hectares of certified organic vineyards in New South Wales, Australia’s oldest wine-growing state. Every bottle reflects their belief that great wine begins with the land and is shaped by care, respect, and craftsmanship.

Windowrie celebrates the deep cultural and historical ties of its region. Their Sakura range honours Cowra’s annual cherry blossom festival and the enduring friendship between Japan and the local community—born from history and blossoming into a symbol of hope and renewal.

Meanwhile, The Mill range pays tribute to a landmark of central west New South Wales. Built in 1861 and lovingly restored by the O’Dea family in 1994, The Mill now stands as both an award-winning attraction and a reminder of the dedication that defines Windowrie’s wines.

From vineyard to bottle, Windowrie is more than a winery—it is the O’Dea family’s ongoing story of heritage, harmony, and the pursuit of excellence.
