We created the packaging system for Lorena Canals’ textile toy lineA packaging design that plays, inspires and reinforces brand identity
Challenge
Packaging that protects, communicates, tells stories and sparks imagination
In 2024, we began our collaboration with Lorena Canals, an internationally recognised brand known for its washable handmade rugs and textile accessories, crafted with a strong commitment to sustainability.
With the brand expanding its universe into a new line of textile toys, a fresh challenge emerged: to develop a packaging and display system that would unify visual communication across all touchpoints — from physical stores to their online channel.
The aim was to create a system that protected the product, enhanced its perceived value, and respected the brand’s essence: playful, delicate, warm, and handcrafted.
Process
A modular and playful packaging design aligned with the brand’s visual universe
At NOMON DESIGN, we proposed a modular approach from which we developed a packaging system shaped like houses that transform into toys. When placed together, the individual boxes form a city, offering added value as transformable and reusable objects.
Each solution was carefully designed so that, through die-cut windows, the product’s qualities would be visible, and the format could be adapted to each product type: books, sensory toys, crib kits, city sets or nature sets.
All art direction was kept consistent with the brand’s visual universe, paying close attention to every detail so the system wouldn’t just communicate, but also evoke emotion.
We also designed a physical point-of-sale display that reinforces the Green Toys collection’s sustainability storytelling, incorporating key messages and offering a flexible product arrangement.
Result
The result is packaging that goes beyond the box: an object that supports, inspires and strengthens the bond between brand and family
With a unified and coherent graphic language, the packaging enhances the product’s value, makes it easier to understand and strengthens the customer experience both in-store and online.
The outcome is a new integrated packaging system that meets not only functional needs — protecting and organising — but also emotional ones: reinforcing the bond with families and conveying the product’s value from the very first interaction.
