VIGNA MESSIERI The value of history
Restyling a historic wine for the winery always involves a delicate balance between continuity and transformation.
In the case of Vigna Messieri – Rosso Piceno DOC Superiore by Tenuta Cocci Grifoni, the project stems from the need to reinterpret a key product in the winery’s history while preserving its pioneering character.
The starting point is twofold: understanding the reason behind the redesign and the audience the wine speaks to today.
SOLUTION
Developed in collaboration with Andrea Castelletti Studio (design), the project reworks the original label through a process of continuity and refinement.
The graphic system starts from the foundational elements of the first label, reinterpreting them in a contemporary language without breaking the connection to the wine’s history.
The result is a dialogue between past and present, where selected original signs are preserved while others are redesigned through a more essential and updated visual approach.
Rather than replacing the existing identity, the design evolves it: the new label is built through layering, maintaining a readable trace of its original version.
RESULT
The result is a label that preserves the memory of the product while updating its perception.
Vigna Messieri retains its historical identity but presents itself today with a more coherent and contemporary visual language aligned with the evolution of the winery.
The project builds a bridge between origins and present, allowing continuity to emerge through a renewed form.
