Hadouken™ Japanese Rice Lager
A beer born at the intersection of craft brewing and arcade culture.
Hadouken is a craft beer brand inspired by the vibrant visual language of 1980s and 1990s video games, where every design element serves as a nod to the collective nostalgia of a generation raised on consoles, arcade cabinets, and pixelated worlds. The project aims to transform a beer into a cultural experience, moving away from the conventional codes of the category to build a distinctive, irreverent, and memorable universe.
The visual identity combines retro-futuristic typography, pixel art graphics, neon colors, and direct references to classic gaming culture. The brand name, taken from one of the most iconic moves in video game history, becomes the conceptual foundation of the entire experience. From the label design to promotional materials, every touchpoint was crafted to feel like an extension of an arcade machine.
As part of the launch, a custom point-of-sale display inspired by classic 1980s arcade cabinets was developed. More than a simple retail display, the piece functions as a collectible object designed to capture attention and reinforce the brand’s personality in commercial environments. Joysticks, arcade buttons, pixel-based iconography, and immersive graphic details transform the display into an interactive experience that invites consumers to engage with the product before even taking their first sip.
The result is a bold and highly recognizable visual identity that demonstrates how branding can transform a craft beer into a cult object for a specific community. Hadouken does not simply sell beer; it celebrates a culture, awakens memories, and turns nostalgia into a contemporary experience.
