The name Botticello translates from Italian as “barrel,” and the cheese is indeed barrel-shaped, like Italian Parmesan. For the creators, making this cheese is a true art form, which echoes the second meaning of the name – Botticello, which evokes the surname of the Renaissance artist Botticelli, symbolizes the revival of cheesemaking in Russia, as well as its craftsmanship, talent, diligence, and attention to detail.
