Oloroso Galeon – VORS WINE – Bodegas Barrero since 1798

Designing and producing an Oloroso VORS aged for over 30 years demands history, responsibility, and a great deal of hashtag#LabelEngineering.

For the hashtag#restyling of Oloroso Galeón (Bodegas Barrero 1798), I drew inspiration from the San José galleon (1708). This significant heritage connection to paper compels us to approach the project as pure graphic architecture.

We built the design and its production using a system of millimeter-precise parameters based on the “Label Engineering” formula.

• Paper and color: Avery Dennison Touch Plus paper (120 g/m²). To compensate for its high absorbency, we calibrated the prepress under the PSO Uncoated v3 profile (FOGRA52), with a TAC limited to 300% and a medium-high GCR that ensures accurate gray balance.
• Double hot foil: Arque 495 matte gold + Arque 396 bronze, with a registration of ±0.15 mm.
• Sequence and control: offset → drying → stamping → screen printing. Trapping of 0.08–0.12 mm, metal-based staining, and strict color validation (ΔE < 2.8).
• Selective varnish.

Result: an active, multisensory experience.

Tactile dialogue and organic absorption of the paper. Everything communicates and reinforces the perception of the system.

When a product accumulates decades of patience and centuries of history, design becomes a responsibility.
