Designing the label for a Godello born in Valdeorras takes more than aesthetics: it takes an understanding of landscape, material, and #LabelEngineering.

For Paraxe Sorellos · Bodegas Blare, the starting point was the territory itself.

In the Sil valley, between mountains and terraces, Godello grows on slate, schist, and clay —soils where the roots must search for depth, and where minerality becomes part of the wine’s identity—. Bodegas Blare builds its project on respect for that landscape: vineyard recovery and organic viticulture as a working philosophy.

Translating that identity into a label meant rejecting excess and working from precision: material, light, and contrast.

We built the design and its production on a system of millimetric parameters, under the #LabelEngineering formula:

→ Substrate: Avery Dennison Fasson® Paper Watermark. A paper with presence and texture that brings depth from the material itself.
→ Foil stamping: Arque red, used as a point of visual tension and contrast within the composition.
→ Selective varnish: UV screen printing applied over the word BLARE, shifting in gloss, volume, and legibility as light hits it.
→ Production sequence and control: printing → foil stamping → UV screen printing, with reserves and registration fine-tuned to keep every material and finish clean against the next.

The result is a label that changes with the light.
The paper brings territory.
The foil brings energy.
The varnish makes BLARE appear from another plane.

Three techniques that don’t compete with each other: they build a single perception.

Because when a wine is born from a place with its own identity, packaging shouldn’t decorate it. It should help tell where it comes from.
