Some time ago, Bodegas del Desierto contacted me with the wonderful proposal to design the label for their new wine line, “Pampa & la Vía”.
The name comes from the popular saying “quedar en Pampa y la Vía”, which means to be left adrift. The origin is real: those who lost everything at the national racetrack received a complimentary ticket that left them exactly at the intersection of La Pampa Street and the train tracks. There, penniless, they were left to their own devices. The design for the entire wine line reinterprets the distinctive style of the city’s old public transportation tickets, using more contemporary design principles.
It was a project I thoroughly enjoyed working with the Bodega del Decierto team, and I’m grateful they entrusted us with their new wine line.
