The Challenge.
Solma Grow, a Dubai-based family brand, sought to launch a unique puzzle series for children aged 3-8. The goal was to create a product that stands out on Amazon and retail shelves, combining engaging storytelling with functional, distinctive packaging.

The Solution.
I delivered a comprehensive design ecosystem: from custom structural packaging (sandcastle shape) and original character illustrations to 3D motion assets for marketing. The result is a cohesive brand experience tailored to the local market while maintaining global appeal.
Market Impact.
Successfully launched on Amazon and social channels, the “Day at the Beach” puzzle has established Solma Grow’s visual identity. The product has received positive reviews from customers.

Process. I started with research: explored popular beach activities in Dubai (kayaking, surfing, picnics, beach games) to make the scene feel specific and authentic rather than generic.
Then I built the overall composition – balancing water and shore areas and planning the density of details so the puzzle would be engaging to assemble. During style exploration, we decided to remove semi-dressed adults and keep only children, making the concept clearer and more aligned with the product.
I also worked on character stylization, simplifying all shapes and refining proportions. The final result is a cohesive cartoon style where characters and environment share the same visual language.

Packaging development. To stand out among competitors who already use creative packaging, we needed a distinct shape for the toy store shelf. I initially developed a seashell concept, but we ultimately chose the sandcastle form. While both fit the beach theme, the sandcastle acts as a stylized symbol of children’s play, making the product instantly recognizable and engaging for kids.

All labeling and packaging elements fully comply with local regulatory requirements, which were carefully researched during the preparation of this project. Key product information was translated into Arabic to ensure clarity, accessibility, and market readiness.

This puzzle is part of the Solma Grow product line I developed, shown here alongside the previous release. Both products follow the same visual style and structure, while each puzzle has its own unique theme.
