Packaging design for greek extra virgin olive oil

“OLIVERA” is a premium Greek Extra Virgin olive oil. The packaging design concept is rooted in a fusion of Ancient Greece’s rich cultural heritage, classical art, and antique sculpture. Our primary goal was to create not merely a container for a food product, but a genuine work of art—one that conveys the product’s absolute purity and noble origins while standing out in the highly competitive premium market.

The central and most striking element of the design is the unique drapery (fabric-like folds) featured on the bottle. Visually, it evokes traditional ancient Greek attire—such as a toga or peplos—elegantly draped around a dark glass bottle. This approach instantly conjures associations with the perfection and timeless beauty of classical marble sculptures, lending the design a sculptural sense of volume and dimensionality. This light-colored fabric, featuring a natural texture, is secured by an elegant golden cord that adds a touch of luxury, a pleasing tactile contrast, and visual richness to the packaging.

The main body of the bottle is crafted from premium dark, blackish-green glass. This choice offers not only aesthetic depth but also a vital functional benefit: the dark glass shields the high-quality olive oil from the harmful effects of light, thereby preserving its delicate flavor profile over time. An elegant gold seal featuring an embossed olive branch sits on the bottle’s neck, serving as a guarantee of quality that symbolizes the product’s authenticity and traditional approach.

The typography is also carefully chosen to align perfectly with the overall concept. The “OLIVERA” brand name is rendered in an elegant, classic serif typeface, applied in gold to both the glass and the fabric. This creates a striking contrast against both dark and light backgrounds, ensuring excellent legibility and a premium identity.

The design of “OLIVERA” is multifaceted, skillfully blending the grandeur of classical art with modern minimalism. It captivates the consumer not only through its visual aesthetics but also through the story it tells—a narrative of olive trees nurtured under the Greek sun and of timeless, classical values. This is not merely packaging, but a continuation of the brand’s story, inviting the consumer to savor the “liquid gold” of the Mediterranean while discovering the perfect harmony of flavor and art.
