Prosperity Ong Lai

This packaging design embodies themes of wealth and good fortune. The shaped like a pineapple inspired by “Ong Lai”, phonetically similar to pineapple or “incoming fortune” in Chinese Hokkein.

The packaging integrates elements of Chinese New Year traditions. The pineapple’s flourescent yellow-hued design features illustrations of Cai Shen, the God of Wealth, and gold nuggets, enhancing the sense of good luck arriving at your door-step for the new year. The labeling also includes prosperity scrolls with well-wishes, reinforcing the festive theme. A unique feature is the scratch card lottery ticket embedded in the pineapple leaves lid. When scratched, it reveals gold nugget images, aligning with the design’s theme of luck and fortune.
