Bikaji | Made of Rajasthan

Bikaji | Made of Rajasthan

Open Strategy & Design

For over six decades, Bikaji has carried the flavours of Rajasthan far beyond Bikaner. As the portfolio expanded across categories, we transformed that heritage into a new identity and packaging system.

To create its refreshed logo, we were inspired by the Rajasthani turban and Bikaner’s dunes for a distinctive mark that updated the earlier traditional Rajasthani motif to a modern, heritage-inspired identity. We maintained a semblance to the earlier form with a deeper meaning and stronger connect to the land where Bikaji comes from.

Taking our provenance story further, the pack architecture delved with Rajasthan’s architecture. Jharokhas and palace gateways inspired the central brand frame, creating a consistent stage for product information across the portfolio. Depending on the format, the arch works either as a contained central label or expands across the pack as an edge-to-edge window.

Around it, a linear pattern language draws from architectural panels, ornament and traditional Rajasthani visual forms, creating a distinctive brand world while keeping the centre clear for communication.

Category-specific motifs add another layer of navigation. The camel and sun connect Bikaneri Bhujia to its regional roots, while the turban and moustache bring character to namkeen. The elephant and lotus give sweets their own visual cues. Together, these motifs help differentiate categories while maintaining a recognisable Bikaji system.

Colour and photography complete the packaging language. Saturated backgrounds extend the pack colours into the image world, while photography shifts according to the appetite cues of each category, from abundance and texture in bhujia and mixtures to richer serving cues for sweets and ready-to-eat foods.

The result is a cohesive packaging system for Bikaji where Rajasthan is not simply a visual reference, but the organising principle of the pack, making a diverse portfolio easier to recognise, navigate and desire, turning a heritage brand into a modern and rooted snacking brand that brings a taste of home anywhere in the world.
