Herbaria Bitter is born from a deep respect for the rural wisdom of Latin America. The project pays tribute to the guardians of ancestral medicine through five figures from across the continent: María Sabina (Mexico), Pachita (Mexico), Juana Miranda (Ecuador), Olivia Arévalo (Peru), and Zica Pires (Brazil).
Its profile brings together 37 botanicals, processed using two techniques: cold maceration for citrus fruits, spices, fruits, and native woods such as guayacán and palo negro; and pre-infusion for gentian, rhubarb, wormwood, and elderflower.
Based on continental research, the design integrates a botanical and cultural map connecting geography, medicinal plants, and identity. This graphic proposal takes shape through a digital collage combining fungi, bones, wildlife, and wild elements to honor the legacy of Latin American healers.
