The packaging design for Quinta Dona Sancha — Vinha Ancestral draws inspiration from the visual language of antique books and historical manuscripts, translating the wine’s sense of heritage and craftsmanship into a sophisticated contemporary expression.
The concept extends across the entire presentation, from the custom-crafted wooden box to the bottle and its wrapping. The dark, textured box was designed to evoke the character of an archival object, with refined detailing and typography integrated into its surface. More than a protective case, it gives the wine a sense of permanence and collectability, reinforcing the idea of a bottle connected to time and tradition.
The bottle label continues this visual language through a combination of raised red wax seal, antique gold foil stamping, spot varnish and gold thread, creating a distinctive tactile presence and a contrast between understated elegance and crafted detail.
The wrapping paper surrounding the bottle features vineyard and vine illustrations inspired by historical manuscripts, bringing the connection to the land into the packaging while adding an artisanal dimension to the experience.
Together, these elements create a packaging system that feels almost like a historical object preserved through time — carefully crafted, tactile and rooted in heritage, yet presented with the refinement expected of a contemporary premium wine.
