ABOUT
OSRAM LED bulbs with a patented antibacterial coating introduce a new layer of functionality to everyday lighting — combining illumination with hygiene. The technology actively reduces bacterial presence, responding to growing consumer demand for cleaner living environments.
SOLUTION
The packaging design by Vladimir Shmoylov translates this innovation into a clear and instantly recognizable visual system.
A deep purple background creates a strong, technological shelf presence, while the bulb is positioned as a central hero element. Subtle crystalline textures reinforce the idea of purity and protection without overcomplicating the composition.
The antibacterial benefit is communicated through a bold circular sign inspired by universal prohibition symbols — a crossed-out bacteria icon that requires no additional explanation and works across different markets.
Color coding is used as a functional navigation tool: — yellow for 3000K (warm light)— green for 4000K (neutral light)— blue for 6500K (cool light)
This system simplifies product choice while maintaining a consistent visual identity across the range.
RESULT
The design balances strong shelf impact with functional clarity, expressing the dual nature of the product — lighting and protection.
It was successfully adapted for distribution across European markets, integrating mandatory information in 28 languages without compromising the visual system.
The project demonstrates how packaging can communicate complex technological benefits through simple, universal visual codes.
