Webb deVlam unveil new positioning and design for Heritage Cigars by Dunhill

Strategic brand design agency, Webb deVlam unveil their new positioning and pack design for the jewel in the crown of Dunhill cigars, the Heritage range.

The Agency has worked with the Dunhill brand across its portfolio for over a decade and Heritage Cigars by Dunhill is the latest offering in the history of the brand. The brief was to develop a strategic position and a pack design to define this new range inspired by the look and feel of the vintage Dunhill cigars from their halcyon years.

Since 1907, Dunhill has scoured the globe for tobacco of exceptional depth, flavour and complexity to bring their consumers the epitome of smoking excellence. The look and feel of the new range needed to reflect the remarkable cigar which boasts an exciting harmony of full-bodied flavours of tobaccos from the world’s best growers. The result is presented in exquisitely crafted new packaging which confidently celebrates Dunhill’s rich history of creating 100-rated cigars.

Just as the cigars have been meticulously selected, so too have the materials used for this authentic packaging collection. The handmade untreated cedar box using interlaced finger joints pays homage to the award winning Cuban Dunhill cigars of the past. The traditional hinge and clasp finished in aged brass patina add a touch of grandeur and embellishment along with the polished ‘medal style’ labels which appear on the front of the box and the inner lid – all inspired by the vintage Dunhill Havana collections. The branding uses solely the Dunhill signature helping to evoke the personal touch and hand craft, once again to depict the iconic status of the cigars encased within.

Inside the box the cigars are bundled together with gold satin ribbon which perfectly reflects the golden era that inspired these premium cigars. The Banderoles printed using a rich combination of gold and red are designed to signify how each cigar is lovingly crafted.

As well as the Dunhill brand’s impeccable credentials, our design highlights the craftsmanship and attention to detail that has gone into making every single cigar in the last century.”

The first boxes will launch this month in tobacco specialists worldwide as well as global travel retail outlets.
