Design for 3 Américas Dona Preta, an authentic Brazilian Black IPA.

Dona Preta has the dryness, the balance oriented to the hops, and the flavor characteristics of an IPA, but with beautiful black color and without strongly roasted or burnt flavors. Surprisingly for the perfect combination of roasted dark malts with the bitterness and intense aroma of a large amount of hops. An innovative Brazilian Black IPA, strong and stylish like that could only be called Dona Preta!

The art is a mix between the famous “Baianas” of Salvador (a major city in northeastern Brazil) and African women, with their colorful and ornate garments.

What’s Unique?
The art is a tribute to the “Baianas do Acarajé”, African descendant women who have been selling traditional food in the state of Bahia for tens of years. They carry the ingredients on a tray on their head and produce the delicacies on the spot. In 2012, Baianas do Acarajé were recognized as Intangible Heritage of Bahia.
