Black Sheep Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster dedicated to quality. Channeling this passion for perfection, we developed a packaging set built on a less but better mentality. Taking a no frills approach, decisions were made to focus on what counts and do those things with passion and precision reflecting these same values that underpin the business. By removing elements rather than adding them, the emphasis then lands on the authentic beauty in raw materials, textures and forms.

Using a gorgeous Italian cotton paper stock (Wild Cotton – 300gsm), the texture and quality is palpable the minute you come in to contact with the packaging. The story behind this project begins over 3 years ago with a rebranding journey concluding with this packaging set as the pièce de résistance. One of the challenges that came up during the project was to achieve a highly tactile, luxurious and attention to detail feel while keeping within a relatively tight budget, being flexible enough for the always rotating roasting schedule and having the option of being removable to accomodate different requirements. We came up with the solution of a transferrable belly band which also had the added benefit of creating more depth and dimensionality to the bag.

What’s Unique?
The luxurious and utterly fantastic 300gsm Wild Cotton Stock used for the belly bands and the restraint used in the space and colour palette.
