The Flowr Corporation, through one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, has debuted its new cobalt blue glass packaging, designed to preserve cannabis and maintain consistency from factory to smoke.

The new packaging from Flowr, one of Canada’s leading cannabis producers, debuts exactly one year after the brand refresh which was created, by the brand’s agency of record, Zerotrillion, with the jars in mind. Inspired by vintage apothecary bottles, the new cobalt glass jars are a nod to cannabis’ medical history.

Glass has long been recognized as a protective material due to its chemical and heat resistive properties making it a great option for the storage of cannabis. Whereas plastic can cause a static charge that removes trichomes – the small hairs that give the cannabis its character, influencing the type of experience the user gets when consuming – glass shields its contents.

Flowr’s cobalt glass jars are designed to preserve the bud; the glass reduces static while the seal limits oxidization, keeping the flower fresh, protecting it from external contaminants, and preserving the flavor and the potency of the product.

Dr. Deron Caplan, Director of R&D at Flowr said: “We work tirelessly to create a product that is consistent and high quality, in order to maintain that when the product is out in the world, we created packaging that does more than looking good. The new cobalt glass jars exist to preserve the product we create, ensuring that the end-user knows exactly what they are consuming. Unlike plastic, glass helps keep the product fresh, the way it should be. The added benefit of this is that it’s not only great for the plant but also the environment.”

The new cobalt glass packaging reinforces Flowr’s commitment to crafting a premium product that can be proudly displayed with style.
