The Background

Appartement 103 has been awarded the task by Alexandrion Group to build a new gin brand within the premium segment.

Siginia, a crafted Italian gin, celebrates the essence of Sicilian terroir and culture. Known for its fertile lands shaped by Mount Etna’s volcanic activity and the Mediterranean climate, Sicily offers an ideal environment for cultivating a diverse array of citrus fruits, plants, and herbs. These natural treasures form the heart and soul of Siginia’s distinctive flavor.

The Story

Our inspiration for Siginia stemmed from the timeless artistry of Sicilian ceramics, a craft with a rich history spanning over 2500 years. These ceramics, adorned with intricate handmade patterns, exude charm, joy, and vibrant colors, serving as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for our project. Each piece tells a story of the island’s culture and artistic heritage, which we sought to capture in every bottle of Siginia.

Our team crafted two distinct SKUs, each reflecting a unique aspect of Sicily’s natural bounty and cultural richness. Sole Rosso (Red Sun) is a bright, citrus-forward gin featuring notes of orange, encapsulating the sun-drenched vibrancy of Sicily. Stella Notte (Night Star), on the other hand, is infused with Sicilian botanicals and delicate jasmine essence, offering a more nuanced, floral profile that captures the island’s serene nights.

The Design

The bottle design showcases bold and vibrant illustrations inspired by the symmetrical tiled patterns of traditional Sicilian ceramics. These motifs, reminiscent of suns and floral elements, create a wild and lively color palette that symbolizes the unique flavor profiles of each SKU. The white ceramic-like bottle serves as the perfect canvas for these intricate designs, making the presentation visually captivating.

What sets Siginia apart is the 360° tiled pattern adorning each side of the bottles. This allows for an endless array of combinations when SKUs are paired together, resulting in a mesmerizing visual shelf impact that deeply connects to the essence of Sicily, making Siginia a true celebration of the island’s spirit.
