Materramenta is a wine made with the Verdelho and Arinto dos Açores grape varieties, bottled by producer Luís Vasco Cunha in Biscoitos, Terceira Island, Azores – Portugal.

The vineyards are located in an iconic landscape, in the northern of the island, at short distance from the Atlantic Ocean.

The redesign of the label, was inspired by the typical island’s black stones, of volcanic origin, that form the famous “curraleta” walls. It’s these walls, that heat the vineyards, whilst protecting them from saline winds.

To the illustration, we use manual expressiveness as a symbol of the hard work, experience and resilience of Azorean winegrowers, combining their “roots” in an elegant and minimalist design.
