Brand Story:
Over 300 years ago, there was a Korean diplomat named Ahkin who received orders from his court to visit Taiwan – Tainan City, to be specific – to resolve some diplomatic matters. However, one fateful day, a sudden and violent storm caused Ahkin’s ship en route to Tainan’s Anping Port to sink. Ahkin, who fell into the sea, inadvertently had a human-made product of marine pollution – a plastic straw – inserted into his head, resulting in his demise. (A bit of a fantastical tale!)

Later, driven by lingering regret and unfulfilled wishes, Ahkin transformed into a zombie. His lifeless body drifted to the shores of Tainan. Upon arrival, he witnessed everyone joyfully sipping their beverages through straws. Taiwan is renowned for its love of drinks, and everyone was relishing their beverages with delight. Originally, Ahkin had come with the intention of siphoning human blood to regain his youth and beauty, but now, whenever he saw the people of Taiwan sipping their drinks, his head would inexplicably ache, and he’d become increasingly fearful.

Every time someone in Taiwan took a sip, Ahkin feared that his brain and blood were about to be drained away. Consequently, he became afraid of the Taiwanese who were enjoying their beverages. With growing apprehension, he involuntarily started twitching, hence the name “Pi Pi Tsuo” (a playful onomatopoeic term for shivering or twitching).

So, as a Taiwanese who wishes to avoid Ahkin, the zombie, have you experienced a “Pi Pi Tsuo” today?
