Mujercita

Mujercita is an alcohol drink inspired by the spirit and intensity of Mexican culture, expressed through a bold, character-driven label design. The project treats Mexican visual heritage as a living, emotional language, rich in symbolism, colour and attitude.

At the centre of the label stands a female figure, frontal and unwavering, meeting the viewer’s gaze directly. She is not idealised but present: strong, composed and self-aware. The name Mujercita, meaning “little woman” in Spanish, carries layered meanings. It can be tender, ironic or quietly defiant, depending on context. Here, femininity is expressed as character and strength.

The illustration draws from Mexican folk art and ornamental traditions. Flowers, leaves and symbolic elements crown the figure’s head, while secondary graphics of cactus, agave and native flowers enrich the visual world. Colour plays a decisive role, with saturated purples, deep blues and vibrant accents reflecting Mexico’s expressive chromatic culture.

Typography anchors the composition with confidence, allowing the portrait and name to lead. Mujercita emerges as a character-led brand: bold, expressive and unmistakably present.
