SOLAE is a conceptual scented candle brand inspired by the idea of finding small moments of joy in everyday life. In a world filled with constant notifications, endless information, and daily routines, SOLAE invites people to slow down and create their own space of warmth, light, and emotional comfort.
The visual identity is inspired by the dopamine aesthetic trend — a design approach centered around positive emotions, sensory pleasure, and uplifting experiences. Rather than embracing restrained minimalism, the brand celebrates color, atmosphere, and a sense of playful optimism.
The graphic system features soft abstract illustrations inspired by tropical nature. Flowing foliage, organic shapes, and silhouettes of exotic birds create an immersive visual world filled with warmth, freedom, and escapism. Each candle becomes a small gateway to a brighter, more joyful state of mind.
The name SOLAE draws inspiration from sunlight and the feeling of inner warmth that accompanies moments of comfort and relaxation. More than a scented candle, it is designed as a daily ritual that brings atmosphere, mood, and a sense of well-being into the home.
The packaging is produced using premium matte paperboard, chosen for its refined tactile quality. Blind embossing subtly reveals details of the illustrations as they interact with light, adding depth, sophistication, and a premium finish to the overall experience.
SOLAE is a visual celebration of light, positivity, and the small everyday moments that make life feel a little brighter.
Curator’s Insight
What stands out here is the confidence in the design decision to let emotion lead. The dopamine aesthetic is a well-trodden reference point right now, but SŌLAE applies it with enough restraint … through blind embossing, a considered type system, and a consistent bird motif… that it reads as a genuine brand perspective rather than a trend exercise. The candle forms themselves pull equal weight as design objects, which isn’t always the case in this category. When the product and the packaging feel like they belong to the same world, that’s when the concept really holds.
