Wet Food Packaging Designed for Clarity and Shelf Recognition
Lolly Pet Nutrition’s wet food range was redesigned with a clear objective: to create a packaging system capable of organizing a growing portfolio while strengthening brand recognition and improving product identification at the point of sale.
The challenge involved developing a visual architecture that could accommodate different species, life stages, and flavors without compromising consistency. In a highly competitive category, where purchasing decisions are often made in just a few seconds, clarity and differentiation became key drivers of the project.
The redesign began with the evolution of the brand identity itself. The original paw symbol, already familiar to consumers, was preserved as a recognizable brand asset, while the logotype was updated to support future expansion across multiple product categories. The removal of category-specific references allowed the brand to become more flexible and scalable as its portfolio grows.
To improve navigation across the product range, a structured color-coding system was developed, creating clear distinctions between dog and cat products while also differentiating life stages and flavor variations. This approach helps consumers quickly identify the most suitable product while maintaining a cohesive visual presence across the entire line.
The information hierarchy was also carefully redesigned to prioritize the most relevant purchase drivers. Product category, life stage, and flavor were given greater prominence, making the packaging easier to read and understand from a distance. Attractive pet photography was incorporated to create a stronger emotional connection with pet owners, while enhancing the premium perception of the products.
The result is a modern and highly organized packaging family that balances consistency and differentiation. Through strategic use of color, hierarchy, imagery, and brand assets, the new packaging system improves shelf visibility, simplifies product selection, and strengthens the overall value perception of the Lolly Pet Nutrition brand.
A project where packaging design goes beyond aesthetics to become a powerful tool for communication, recognition, and consumer choice.
