CLN: Freshness in Motion

Modern life is increasingly defined by movement. We commute, travel, work remotely, spend time at the gym, meet friends after work and rarely return home between activities. While our everyday essentials have evolved to support this lifestyle, oral care has remained largely unchanged. Toothpaste tubes, bulky toothbrushes and traditional packaging are still designed for the bathroom rather than for life on the move.

CLN reimagines toothpaste tablets as an everyday carry object by borrowing the visual and functional language of travel. Instead of simply reducing the size of conventional packaging, the project redesigns the entire user experience around mobility, making oral care as natural to carry as keys, headphones or a wallet.

The identity is built around familiar travel codes. A reusable brushed aluminum case takes the form of a miniature suitcase, while a retractable carabiner handle allows it to be clipped onto a backpack or bag for quick access throughout the day. The removable paper sleeve is inspired by an airline baggage tag, translating information hierarchy, barcodes and airport aesthetics into a recognizable packaging system. The three-letter name CLN follows the visual logic of IATA airport codes, reinforcing the idea of movement without relying on literal travel imagery.

Inside the case, toothpaste tablets and a foldable toothbrush create a compact oral care kit designed for everyday mobility. Lightweight refill pouches extend the product’s lifespan and encourage reuse of the primary packaging, allowing the system to remain compact while reducing unnecessary waste. Color-coded labels distinguish each flavour while maintaining a consistent and easily expandable identity.

Every design decision follows the same principle: portability should not be an additional feature, but the foundation of the product itself. Rather than adapting traditional oral care for travel, CLN transforms it into a product designed for the way people live today—always moving, always prepared. The result is a cohesive packaging system that turns a daily hygiene routine into a seamless part of contemporary mobile life.
