Popcorn Con Proteínas

ABOUT

Popcorn Con Proteínas is a self-initiated concept for a protein-enriched popcorn snack — 13g of protein per pack, in three flavors: Chile, Parmesano, and Sal. Inspired by Spain and its street culture, the project set out to answer one question: how far can a brand go on character alone? We deliberately built a product that carries no logo, no tagline, and no explanation — a design that has to earn recognition through personality, not naming.

SOLUTION

Every pack is a face. Instead of treating the popcorn as an appetizing product shot, we turned it into the character’s hair, sitting above three illustrated faces that each embody a flavor — the fiery, gritted-teeth expression for Chile, the confident grin for Parmesano, the tongue-out attitude for Sal. Sunglasses, earrings, and tattoo-style linework give each variant its own street identity, while the 13g protein claim is woven directly into the illustration rather than stamped on as a label. The system runs on flat, high-contrast color blocking — red, yellow, and blue — so each flavor is separated by color and expression at a single glance.

What makes it unique

The uniqueness of the project lies in its refusal to rely on a conventional brand structure. The design does not ask the consumer to remember a name first. It asks them to remember a face. In a category often dominated by claims, ingredients, and functional benefits, POPCORN CON PROTEÍNAS uses personality as the primary brand asset. The protein claim is present, but it does not dominate the design. Instead, the pack creates emotional recognition through attitude, humor, and cultural energy. It is a test of how far character-based packaging can go: can a snack brand be built almost entirely from expression, silhouette, and visual rhythm?

RESULT

The outcome is a shelf presence that communicates attitude and flavor before a single word is read. By removing the brand name and letting the character do the work, we created packaging that is instantly recognizable and hard to forget — proof of a simple principle: when the visual language is strong enough, a brand is recognized by its face, not by its copy.
