ZUG — The City of Lost Letters

Some cities are built with stone. Others are built with stories.

ZUG imagines an entire fictional city where every neighborhood represents a unique flavor, every illustration hides a narrative, and every can becomes a collectible chapter of the same universe.

Rather than designing four separate beverage packages, the project creates a living city. The Yellow Express tram, the iconic red mailbox, the harbor, flower gardens and historic architecture all become recurring landmarks that connect the collection together. A small letter-carrying character guides consumers through this miniature world, transforming each flavor into a destination waiting to be explored.

Each color introduces a different district while preserving a strong visual identity across the range. The illustrations wrap seamlessly around the can, encouraging viewers to rotate the package and discover new details from every angle. What begins as a soft drink quickly becomes an invitation to travel through an imaginary place filled with hidden messages, forgotten letters and nostalgic urban poetry.

The graphic language blends detailed architectural illustration, editorial storytelling and premium packaging design into a cohesive visual experience. Inspired by European heritage cities, vintage tramways and illustrated children’s books, the artwork balances richness and readability while remaining instantly recognizable on shelf.

More than a beverage identity, ZUG is designed as a narrative brand universe—one that can naturally expand across limited editions, seasonal neighborhoods, collectible packaging, retail experiences and immersive campaigns.

Every can is not simply a flavor.
