Inspired by independent journalism and documentary storytelling, the packaging treats every coffee as a new edition. The origin becomes the headline, the tasting profile becomes the editorial summary, and the technical characteristics are organised like information columns. Edition numbers and roasting dates reinforce the idea of a living publication that changes with every harvest.

The visual identity is deliberately restrained. A strong serif masthead gives Journal an immediate editorial presence, while a rigorous typographic grid creates clarity and recognition across the range. The cool-white, matte paper recalls the tactile character of a freshly printed newspaper without imitating it literally. All elements are printed with flat inks, without foil, embossing or decorative finishes. Premium value comes from precision, material honesty and the strength of the concept.

Each variety is distinguished by a specific colour and a documentary image connected to its culture:

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe introduces the traditional coffee ceremony and the birthplace of coffee. Brazil Minas Gerais documents the work of a historic fazenda and its drying patios. Guatemala Antigua highlights coffee cultivation within the volcanic highlands and local Maya communities. Rather than using generic landscapes, Journal places people, gestures and traditions at the centre of every package. The photography is translated into a monochrome halftone treatment, creating continuity between cultural documentation and contemporary packaging design.
