ORIGEN – Volcanic Coffee Packaging & Sonic Identity

The Context

ORIGEN is a conceptual coffee packaging project inspired by volcanic territories and the rich cultural heritage of coffee-growing regions such as Colombia, Ethiopia and Guatemala.

The project explores how origin can be translated into a cohesive visual identity, combining geography, materiality and sensory storytelling.

Beyond packaging, ORIGEN introduces a multi-sensory dimension, where each coffee is also interpreted through sound, creating a deeper connection between place, taste and emotion.

The Design Work

The visual identity is built around topographic patterns inspired by volcanic landscapes, symbolizing elevation, depth and natural formation.

Each origin is defined through a distinct color system, reflecting its unique environment while maintaining a consistent premium aesthetic across the range.

The packaging design remains minimal and refined, allowing typography, texture and subtle detailing to express quality and authenticity.

The project extends beyond the product itself through immersive visuals and a sonic extension, reinforcing the idea of coffee as a complete sensory experience.

The Mission

Create a premium visual identity for a fictional specialty coffee brand. Design a cohesive packaging system across multiple origins. Translate geographical and cultural elements into a modern visual language. Develop an extended sensory experience through sound and storytelling

The Approach

The project follows a direction focused on balance between minimalism and emotional depth.

Rather than relying on complex visuals, the identity is structured around a strong core concept: translating volcanic origins into both visual and sensory expressions.

This approach allows the brand to remain elegant and timeless, while offering a distinctive and immersive experience.
