Talabat Spices Rebranding

About Talabat:

Talabat is a food delivery app, partnered with multiple food chains and restaurants to take orders and deliver them using their own delivery service, increasing accessibility for users, allowing them to order and pay online for their food, all in one place.

Concept:

Noticing their packaging and design, I noticed it was difficult to differentiate between spices from afar, even the colors used for each spice are not a clear indicator for the spice itself, such as pink for pepper. Their containers are also plastic, which offer no mercy for the environment.

Categories will be Visual Design and Structural Design, changing the visual design of the package and the main containers while adding more options like pack and sachet.

Therefore, the approach decided for the rebranding was to change the container to something more environmentally friendly and change the design to match the spice inside. The decided material would be Glass with an aluminum lid, offering bio-degradable bag options to refill the jar, keeping to one jar purchase. An added idea as well was the 5g sachets, offering for-the-meal purchases, so when a large quantity of the spice is not needed.

Disadvantages of old design:

  • Confusing Design
  • Un-indicating of product
  • Non-environment friendly
  • Colors and Design do not reflect brand identity
  • Limited to one amount of spice (90g)

Advantages of New Design:

  • Minimal, Clear Design
  • Indicating of product
  • Biodegradable (Glass, Aluminum, Biodegradable plastic)
  • Colors reflect brand identity and design reinforces it
  • Variety of amounts offered (5g, 90g, 250g)
