Description:

Slow Hour is a concept café in Bengaluru for people who love the quiet in-between moments of the day. The brand is built around one idea: good coffee deserves a slower pace.

The identity started on paper. The wobbly “Slow Hour” lettering and the curly-haired character holding a cup were drawn by hand, so the brand has a warm, imperfect line that feels personal rather than polished. That mark sits inside a postage-stamp frame, a nod to letters, unhurried correspondence and taking time over small things.

The coffee range follows the hours of a day. Morning Ritual is a bright light roast from a single estate in Araku Valley. Afternoon Pause is a smooth medium roast from Chikmagalur and Coorg. After Hours is a rich dark roast from Coorg and Baba Budangiri. Each bag gets its own colour, from soft peach to burnt orange to deep brown, so the shelf reads like the light changing from morning to evening. Each bag also carries its own handwritten line: “Start slow.” “Pause a while.” “Stay a little longer.” The backs keep the same stamp format for tasting notes, roast level, origin and a simple brewing guide.

The system carries through to cups, bakery bags and aprons. Repeating character patterns and a shared line, “Good coffee, slower days.”, tie everything together.

All branding, illustration, hand-lettering and packaging design were created by me. AI tools helped with parts of the copywriting.
