If the making of ice cream rolls is so fun & interactive, then why not the packaging?
Ice cream rolls are a Thai-inspired frozen dessert that has become a popular dessert trend in India because of its novelty and visual appeal. Watching the fresh ice cream being mixed, spread, and rolled on a cold plate can be an exciting and interactive experience for customers. Additionally, ice cream rolls offer a wide range of flavours and toppings, making them customizable to individual tastes.
We have designed a packaging solution for ice cream rolls which is interactive, enjoyable, hassle-free and enhances the experience of dine-in as well as on-the-go consumption. The cross-section of the newly designed Flower Cup has sections for the rolls to fit in easily and to accommodate 5-6 rolls in a single cup. The tapered form allows the toppings to sink in between the rolls, giving adequate space for rolls and toppings. Each curve in the cross-section is made to fit 1 roll which prevents the squashing and fusing of rolls into each other. For better on-the-go consumption, the dome-shaped lid ensures no spillage of toppings. A spoon attached to the label also makes it easier to carry for on-the-go.
A fun & satisfying (tak) sound is produced when the spoon touches and moves around the edges of the tight curves on the cup surface to eat (similar to the one in the chopping process of rolls preparation). This adds a playful and interactive element to the packaging for both kids and adults who enjoy eating ice cream rolls.
