The challenge was to create the first custom bottle for one of Santander’s most traditional vermouth bars, Solorzano, adhering to a bottle style already chosen by the client.
To give the design a unique character, distinct from a standardized bottle, we delved into developing a narrative that would work within the design itself but could also be implemented in other communication materials such as t-shirts or tote bags.
Our solution stemmed from the Spanish custom of enjoying doing “the aperitivo”, an almost sacred tradition practiced primarily on Sundays, a day of worship in Christianity. Furthermore, it’s important to consider that each client has their own bar, a “temple,” for this ritual.
Therefore, we incorporated an illustration based on the Sacred Heart, but pierced by a Gilda (a traditional Spanish aperitif) in the shape of a cross. To complement this religious metaphor, we designed an altar in the bar that displays the bottle for all customers to see.
