Top Golden Olive Oil — Packaging Redesign

Top Golden is a project that carries a special history for our studio. More than a decade ago, we worked with the brand on its original olive oil packaging. Years later, the same client returned to us—this time with a new challenge: to rethink the bottle for a more contemporary, premium market while preserving the recognition and heritage the brand had built over the years.

Rather than simply refreshing the graphics, we approached the project as a complete structural redesign.

The olive itself became the starting point. Its natural oval geometry inspired both the outer silhouette of the bottle and, most importantly, the distinctive opening integrated into its structure. This opening functions as a built-in handle, creating a more comfortable and secure grip while giving the bottle an instantly recognizable profile.

The relationship between the outer contour and the inner opening creates a sculptural form that subtly recalls the shape of an olive. In this way, the product communicates its origin not through decoration alone, but through the physical architecture of the package.

The material and color direction was developed around the same idea. Deep olive-green glass establishes a strong connection with the product and its natural origins, while warm wooden details and restrained gold elements introduce a sense of craftsmanship, sophistication, and premium quality.

Functionality was equally important throughout the development process. The proportions of the handle, bottle body, and neck were explored through sketching, structural studies, 3D development, and ergonomic considerations to create a bottle that feels balanced and natural when lifted, carried, and poured.

The result is more than a visual update of the previous packaging. It is an evolution of a design relationship that began many years ago—transforming an established Top Golden package into a more distinctive, functional, and contemporary object while maintaining continuity with the brand we originally helped shape.
