Vahdam India, known for spicing up the US market with its annual advent calendars, introduced a unique limited edition offering: 24 days of fresh Indian spices. This innovative packaging reimagined the classic Western holiday tradition with an exciting Indian twist, creating a standout gifting option for the international holiday season.

When we think of Christmas we think of the obvious – Christmas trees, reindeers, Santa Claus and his elves! Transforming a classic western holiday tradition with an exciting Indian twist, the goal was to design a visually striking advent calendar that could stand out as both a festive keepsake and a celebration of flavour, appealing to a global audience during the gifting season.

We conceptualized a warm and inviting Christmas narrative depicted across a cylindrical box structure. The exterior illustration captured a festive home dining scene, immersing the viewer in the joy of the holiday season, while the inner frame was designed to hold the spices securely without interfering with the illustration. When opened we see the decorative numbers that flow rhythmically. The structure mimics a cabinet with drawers that provide 24 days of excitement and joy.

The design blended minimalism with maximal impact, offering a delightful unboxing experience that delivered excitement and joy for 24 days. Every aspect of the design—from the warm festive illustration to the innovative structure—celebrated the bold Indian twist on a cherished holiday tradition.

The Limited-Edition Spice Advent Calendar was featured in top listicles across the USA and secured placement in luxury department store Nordstrom. It became a highlight of the gifting season, celebrated for its originality, immersive storytelling, and celebration of flavour. This unique offering redefined holiday traditions while showcasing the richness of Indian culture on a global stage.
