From the soil outward.

As part of a strategic consultancy to redefine Huentala Wines’ portfolio, Argency developed a new brand architecture, naming system, and packaging language. The objective was to create a coherent brand universe in which each wine could tell a different chapter of the same origin.

Calizo was created as the winery’s flagship wine range, inspired by the limestone-rich soils of Gualtallary, Mendoza. Its name brings the story back to its most essential element: the ground beneath the vineyard.

The identity unfolds through two expressions: Calizo Albar and Calizo Carmín. Their names distinguish two types of limestone present in the vineyard—white and reddish—and turn that geological difference into the central design code. Color, texture, and materiality give each label its own character while preserving a clear relationship across the range.

The packaging brings the soil itself to the surface. The labels were conceived as tactile objects, inviting both close observation and touch. Their layered visual language evokes the strata, irregularity, and passage of time that shape the land and, ultimately, the wine.

The result is an identity in which strategy, naming, and packaging work as one system. Calizo makes terroir visible and tangible, transforming a defining characteristic of the soil into a distinctive and memorable wine story.
