A new identity for Canary Islands’ snack brand Eidetesa

The much-loved Canarian brand, Eidetesa, has collaborated with strategic creative agency Marks to revitalise the packaging of their local sweet snacks, scrap the clichés and evoke islander pride, capturing a sense of ‘punto’ – the unique magic running through Canarians’ veins.

Each pack features bespoke, colourful illustrations by Oksana Grivina, reflecting the exuberance of island-life and recounting tales familiar to locals, such as the Canarian fish which enjoy basking in the shadow of the Mount Teide volcano.

Drawing on the ‘spirit of punto’, Marks rejuvenated the existing wordmark to emphasise the brand’s provenance, incorporating the national colours of white, blue, and yellow which represent the islands’ land, sea and sun. The new packaging puts this wordmark in the spotlight, reworking the previous brand architecture to create a consistent design that is instantly recognisable to consumers.

Eidetesa’s colourful facelift has given the local icon a new lease of life, instilling local pride in a new generation of Canarian.
