CASA GALLO – ROSSIO DE ABRANTES
To strengthen Gallo’s presence in the super-premium segment in Brazil, we were challenged to create a new concept with strong visual impact—one that moved away from the usual “reserva” or “superior” codes, and whose functional and emotional attributes could be immediately perceived by the consumer.
We drew inspiration from the history and legacy of Casa Gallo—founded in 1860 by Victor Guedes, a passionate olive oil maker—to create a collection that sensorially and poetically reflects the influence of the harvest moment on the flavor profile of the olive oil.
As the harvest season runs from October to January, olives naturally evolve in maturity, which in turn transforms the oil—from fresher and more pungent, to fruitier with softer, sweeter notes. This natural progression was the starting point for the creation of the three varieties: Verde, Frutado, and Maduro.
Each blend was represented through a chromatic system inspired by abstract painting—particularly the work of Mark Rothko—where color plays a sensory role.
Verde: two sharp, vibrant shades of green that express intensity, energy, and freshness. Electrifying tones that almost “pulse,” like the vivid, vegetal flavor of young olive oil.
Frutado: a warm mix of yellow and orange that evokes floral and fruity notes. A sunlit palette representing the balance and harmony of mid-ripeness.
Maduro: blue and red in an unexpected, emotional fusion that conveys depth, softness, and sweetness. Richer, emotionally charged colors that suggest the complexity of a rounder, smoother oil.
The choice of color is not merely aesthetic—it extends the flavor, offering a visual translation of the organoleptic experience. Gold stamping adds brightness, sophistication, and a tactile dimension to the packaging.
The result is a collection that stands out on the shelf and invites consumers to explore the sensory universe of olive oil in an educational and engaging way, reinforcing Casa Gallo’s premium positioning and expertise.
