Zamat is the outcome of a student design project. My objective was to develop the visual identity for a small family-run business that cultivates herbs sourced from an ecological farm. The brand places strong emphasis on organic practices and environmental sustainability. The primary target audience is women, particularly those who value natural, eco-conscious products.
From the beginning, I knew I wanted to incorporate elements of tradition into the design. I drew inspiration from the motifs of kopjafas—traditional Hungarian carved wooden memorial posts. This led me to explore linocut printing as a technique to create unique, handcrafted illustrations for each herb. These prints became a central visual element, adaptable across various brand materials.
For the color palette, I chose earthy, nature-inspired tones to reflect the brand’s organic roots. I also selected typefaces with a natural, handcrafted feel to complement the overall aesthetic.
