The goal was to create a food truck for a pre-existing restaurant along with a menu and food packaging. Schwätzer’s which is a local and German authentic restaurant located in Seymour, Indiana was chosen due to their love for German culture and teaching the community about its heritage.
Seymour, Indiana was built by German settlers and the town has gone to celebrate it yearly at its very own Oktoberfest. It is such a large-scale event that schools are closed the Friday so students can go enjoy the festivities. The owners went to Oktoberfest in Germany and saw the lack of German cuisine throughout the rest of the year and opened Schwätzer’s in 2020.
The concept for the design stemmed from learning about German heritage and then exploring the artistic style of German folk art and design. This can done through the symmetry of the patterns and border-like designs in the branding language.
