Purpose
My goals for the project are to create packaging that is entirely recyclable and made from zero-waste materials, while also reflecting high quality and reliability. With its unique appearance, it not only enhances the shelves in stores but can also serve as a decorative element in our homes after purchase.
Process
Sustainability is a very important factor that is gaining more and more significance over time. Accordingly, I aimed for packaging made from biodegradable and recyclable materials that also reflects premium quality and has a pleasant fragrance. I sought to achieve this in both design and production.
During the design process, I paid special attention to sustainability, functionality, the historical background of the product, and aesthetics. My packaging design is a collective package for four premium quality essential oil blends, using embossed paper for its creation. I pressed plants found in nature into moistened paper and, after drying, folded them into the desired shapes. Every single element required precise measurements and calculations to achieve the desired overall appearance.
The unique lotus flower-shaped compartments that unfold, as well as the pyramid-like shape of the closed box, both reference the history and origin of essential oils, rooted in Ancient Egypt. The drawers containing the four blends each have their own cover elements, providing information about the composition, use, and name of the essential oil. This serves both as an informational surface and an additional protective layer for the product.
Product
The unique appearance of the final design is eye-catching and promises high quality to the buyer. It is not just packaging but can also function as a decorative element or a small storage solution. It is a reliable and practical choice.
