DARK ADE soda can beverage design

Marie Aparina

“Dark Ade” is a bold, playful branding project that reimagines classic lemonade through the lens of iconic monster legends. This dual-concept design showcases the fun and unique blend of flavors that appeal to the adventurous spirit of consumers seeking a twist on the ordinary.

Concept & Characters: The design project features two main pictograms: Dracula and Frankenstein, each symbolizing a distinct flavor profile within the “Dark Ade” series. The Dracula pictogram embodies a refined, mysterious charm, rendered with a sharp, minimalistic silhouette and holding a glass of blood-red lemonade, suggestive of pomegranate and cranberry infusion. On the other hand, the Frankenstein pictogram brings a playful, zesty twist with a vibrant green lemonade infused with lime and mint, his bold and quirky features captured through blocky, stitched elements that echo his iconic appearance.

Visual Aesthetic: The design maintains a balance between dark, gothic tones and bright, citrusy colors, creating a striking contrast that attracts the eye. Dracula’s imagery is set against deep, midnight hues with sharp reds, while Frankenstein’s design plays with electric greens and neon accents. Each bottle or can label is outlined with bold, vintage-style typography that merges classic horror fonts with modern, playful flair.
