Oriens Perfume explores packaging as a dialogue between light, form, and emotion within a unisex fragrance identity. The name Oriens, derived from Latin and referring to the East and the rising sun, informs the design’s conceptual foundation, guiding the visual language toward the quiet moment of dawn.
Inspired by the restrained emotional atmosphere of Wong Kar-wai’s In the Mood for Love, the packaging translates cinematic sensibility through pacing, layered structure, and negative space rather than direct visual references. A sunrise-inspired gradient establishes a sense of gradual emergence, echoing the meditative quality of the fragrance.
The bottle balances soft, qipao-inspired curves with clean geometric lines, resulting in a refined, gender-neutral form. A tortoiseshell-inspired cap subtly extends the cultural narrative. Ergonomic proportions, restrained materials, and minimal typography ensure the packaging remains elegant and experiential, positioning it as a sensory object rather than a purely functional container.
