Disrupting a Saturated Marketplace

In the craft beer marketplace, there have been thousands of new brewers and beers sprouting up like mushrooms in the forest over the past 5-10 years. Design has exploded with every designer and design firm clamoring to work on craft beer to push the envelope and show off their design chops.

Kick loves this opportunity too (who wouldn’t) — plus Kick wants to make sure they are helping their clients stand out in this crowded marketplace to help make their product stand out and their brand make an impact.

Kick has partnered with Bauhaus Brew Labs for about a year. Their strategy is to have each of their beers, seltzers etc. have a unique design. They create a multi-pack Freezebox each winter (they are in Minnesota after all) and a Breezebox each summer.

For the Summer ’22 Breezebox, Bauhaus founder, Matt, and marketing leader had a vision — “Jetstream.” Kick collaborated with them and created mood boards that led to 4 concepts. One of those concepts was designed with the intent to be disruptive and to be the first-of-its-kind with an innovative idea for the category, using good old 3D with tattoo-style graphics.

Each Breezebox can and multi-pack case is a 3D experience.

3D glasses were delivered with cases to the liquor stores for promotional purposes and handed out to customers. Breezebox cans and boxes literally popped off the shelves to create impulse purchases and grow sales while we were able to maintain the larger Bauhaus creative philosophy and character.
